Capturing screenshots on your Blackberry

****UPDATE September 16th 2011 - download link updated****

Ever since I first got a Blackberry I've been looking for a good way to capture screenshots of apps running on the device. Including, of course, our very own GyPSii. Now, thanks to Amit Agarwal's blog entry, I've found it.

Just point your Blackberry browser at http://www.captureitota.com/ and install the free CaptureIt app. Then a "CaptureIt" item will appear in your Blackberry menu (when you hit the Blackberry key on your device) in most places. Select it and CaptureIt will grab a screenshot and save it in your default photo location. You can then do whatever you do with all your other photos - send it, save it, delete it, whatever. Great stuff!

In some apps you can't see a CaptureIt menu item when you hit the Blackberry key. Here's how to get around that. On your Blackberry, go to Options -> Screen/Keyboard and scroll down to the convenience key section. Now assign one of your convenience keys to the CaptureIt application. Hit save. Now, when you hit the convenience key CaptureIt will grab a screenshot and save it for you. Hey presto! Simple hey?
